9/11

I just thought I'd mention this.

I was in first grade when it happened, I also wasn't living in the United States then, like I am now. I was living in Germany, and the only thing I remember of that day was when I came home from school, and my parents, and I think some other people around are military housing apartments were over also. But anyway, I remember walking in from school with the TV on the news, everybody was standing around it. I don't remember anything else besides that.

But then, now, I just asked my mom about what happened that day. In Germany, when it happened, it was like 3:00 PM there. My dad was called into the place where he worked in the military and we didn't see him until the next day. We had to stay in our apartments, and guards were posted at the entry ways.

I wanted to tell you also about this post on Meg Cabot's blog that she posted one year ago about her experience when it happened, it is an incredibly sad story and incredibly moving. You will cry. By I definitely urge you to read it if you haven't done so.

What was it like for you when 9/11 happened?

  1. For me it wasn't too terribly exciting or interesting. I was in fourth grade, first hour science, and suddenly the TV was on and we were watching the news.

    And that's basically it.

    It was still extremely sad.
