This book is:
STRANGE ANGELS by Lili St. Crow!“Dad? Zombie.
Mom? Long gone.
Me? Well, that’s the Scary Part.”
Dru Anderson’s not afraid of the dark. But she should be. STRANGE ANGELS (Razorbill; Trade Paperback Original; 978-1-59514-251-1; $9.99; 304 pages; Ages 12 up; May 14, 2009) is the first in a thrilling new paranormal series that introduces readers to Dru, the toughest teen hunter since Buffy hung up her stake. When something evil taps at her kitchen door, can this strange angel stand the heat? Or is it just a matter of time before her blood turns cold?
Dru and her father travel town to town hunting “Real World” baddies like suckers, wulfen, and the occasional reanimated corpse. Then Dru’s dad turns up dead (but still walking), and she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a deadly game of cat and mouse where she’s going to need every inch of her wit and training to stay alive. Even worse, she’s got two guys (Graves, freshly bitten by a werewulf, and Christophe, a half-human vampire hunter) hungry for her affections, and they’re not about to let the fiercely independent Dru go it alone. Will Dru discover just how special she really is before coming face-to-fang with whatever— or whoever— is hunting her?
Fans of vampire series and paranormal romance will be mesmerized by the action-packed adventures and self discovery Dru must face in order to come to terms with her destiny. And this girl’s not going down without a fight.

ReplyDeleteI would definately want to be a vampire!!!!! (Not a sparkly one though, i would shoot myself in the face if i was one of THOSE vampires) A vampire that actually drinks human blood, can't cross a threshhold without an invitation (so i wouldn't be able to watch people sleep by crawling through their window like a creeper) gets burned by sunlight, can't say the name of God or other religiousness, wears sexy lace up leather corsets over long silk black dresses, and maybe even lives in a big pre victorian gothic castle with stained glass windows of macabre events...
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, I've really thought this out.
This book looks freaking amazing! I saw the book trailer for it a few weeks ago and almost had a bookgasm from the trailer alone.

ReplyDeleteVampire. No doubt. At least in the Dracula sense of the creature because I have an unhealthy obsession with bats. ^.^
I would want to be a vampire, main reason being immortality. Having a chance to see the world centuries from now, hopefully for the better, is very appealing.

Hmm...I think I would be a vampire. Just because Werewolves involve too much transformation and zombies are just dirty!

Hmm, I think I'd choose a vampire, mostly because Stephenie Meyer has glorified their lifestyle so much that it now seems attractive, haha. A GOOD vampire, of course.

Vampire, no question. Zombies need to eat human brains, and I've been trying to quit. Also, to be a werewolf would mean constantly smelling like a wet dog. No, thank you. Vampires just seem more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI already follow your blog.
That book looks so good! I had never read the description before now, but now I really want to read it.

I'd be a vampire because the other two don't seem like fun at all. One's hairy and the other one probably drools.

This is a very cool contest! I definitely wouldn't want to be a zombie. Being dead and having body parts falling off would really slow down my day. It's a bit of a toss-up between the other two. Vampires have been glorified lately and now seem sexy but I wouldn't be crazy about drinking blood and not having a heartbeat for all of eternity. While werewolves don't sound very appealing as far as the hairy body and running on all fours, the shapeshifting were be amazing. And the biggest bonus is that you would still be alive. I kind of like that part best.

I'd rather be a werewolf because I would NOT want to drink blood like vampires. I like the idea of running through the woods with the speed and agility of a were. I wouldn't want to be all hairy and kill cute little bunnies or deer, but at least you aren't "dead" like a vampire!
ReplyDeleteI would want to be a vampire.

I would definitely want to be a vampire because changing into a wolf just doesn't appeal to me and being a zombie just doesn't sound like fun. I blogged about the contest here: http://debbiesworld.wordpress.com/other-book-giveaways/ and will be heading off to tweet about this now. I also follow you in Google Reader. Thanks!

ReplyDeletemj.coward[at]gmail.com
I would rather be a werewolf but zombie's are dead and disgusting, vampires are dead and I wouldn't want to be thirsting for anyone's blood like that. But werewolves are cool :)
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower.
ReplyDeleteAlso twittered about it. Not sure how to link to that?
ReplyDeleteI think i would want to be a vampire, but not kill people if I can help it. But all the other perks would be cool!
ReplyDeleteI already follow you :)
ReplyDeleteI rather be a werewolf. Vampires have VERY long life -and that´s very depressing- and the zombies are simply disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI think being a werewolf is better because you can be out in the daylight without a problem, don´t have to be drinking blood of other people to "live" and you can have a pretty normal life. The only problem would be the full moon nights... but that´s only 2 nights in a month, right? I can live with that. I just have to use a chain or something to keep me trapped and avoid killing somebody.

ReplyDeleteI hate having to choose, but I must, then I would like to be a werewolf. I would love to be able to run in the woods, feeling the wind on my face, smelling the wonders of nature. It would be so great to shift back into human form and get on my laptop and describe feelings that others--except other werewolves--can only dream about. Don't you think that would wondrous?
ReplyDeleteI would be a vampire..I'm not really sure why, but whenever I read a vampire story, I always seems to find myself wanting to be a part of the story.
ReplyDeletepurplg8r@aol.com
The question was an easy one for me - Werewolf. Simply because I'm Native American and tend to believe in shapeshifters or as they are sometimes called skinwalkers.

I would want to be a vampire. Ever since I was younger vampires have always interested me. From books to movies to awsome pictures of them. I am a night lover (i work night swift-nite owl). Blood doesn't bother me at all (I work in the medical field). The clothes that vampires can pull off is amazing. And fags are so cool.

Sounds like an awesome book. Can't wait to read.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would probably want to be a werewolve, because the ability to be able to turn into a wolve sounds so cool, I mean to have canine senses and be able to do things only an animal can do...or a werewolve in this case.
killercheez3@yahoo.com
I would say that I would be a werewolf. Then I could continue my life in a relatively normal manner during the day.
